This qualification is for candidates who are already confident with IT, and are looking to explore the more advanced features of the technology with which they interact. There is no formal IT qualification requirement to join at this level. A typical candidate would be someone who may use a computer to do routine tasks every day, but does not necessarily know about alternative ways to reach the same goal that may be more efficient and effective. The ideal candidate for this course is someone who other staff may go to for unofficial IT assistance such as a digital champion. The course will look at the latest techniques and technological developments within the office space to drive creativity, productivity and efficiency. Candidates can choose skills from a range of units, to ensure that they get the skills needed to make improvements in the workplace and at home.
An assessor will visit the candidate at their workplace, once a month for a minimum of two hours. In addition to this, they will be set approximately four hours of work to complete before the next meeting.
