1.Governance Committee Members
In order to challenge and support the Directors of ACT to achieve the highest possible level of education delivery, responsive to the needs of learners, the economy and to business needs and Welsh Government priorities are maintained and strengthened, the Directors wish to establish a governance structure to challenge and support the work of the company. The Governance board will have a clear brief to examine value for money in ACT’s use of public funds, to scrutinise the systems in place to improve outcomes for learners and management of public funds, and overall performance. The main purpose of the governance board is to provide support and challenge to the company to promote the best possible outcomes for learners, to add value, to build on existing good practise and to consider ACT’s social responsibility and social enterprise ethos. We are looking for independent members to be appointed to the governance commitee for a period of 3 years. Successful candidates should have:
- Knowledge of and/or an active interest in education and training issues.
- An authoritative view on the issues facing Work Based Learning and ACT, such as the needs of learners, and needs of employers.
- An understanding of Welsh Government policies and priorities in education, skills and economic development portfolio areas.
- The ability to be a confident but balanced commentator who is able to challenge and test proposals on advice which you will be required to give.
- The ability to work constructively in a team or committee environment, with effective communications skills.

2. Animal Care Tutor
We are looking for a centre based tutor for the route, capable of teaching 14-16 schools (new provision from September) as well as youth and adult. Enthusiasm and passion to teach are a must. A teaching qualification and/or experience would be preferable as is an animal care qualification. The chosen candidate would then be trained as an assessor in the future.

3. Essential Skills in the Workplace Tutor/s- South West Wales
We are looking for Essential Skills in the Workplace Tutors to support our Essential Skills in the Workplace Programme in the South West Wales area. The role involves training and assessing learners towards Basic Skills qualifications in the workplace and working with employers to raise the levels of literacy and numeracy amongst their staff. Applicants must have experience of delivering Basic Skills qualifications/support as well as a Teaching qualification. The City & Guilds level 3 certificate in delivering basic skills to adults or equivalent is also essential. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this vacancy.

We are looking for an experienced manager to develop and manage the delivery of the Essential Skills in the Workplace contract in the South West Wales area. The role will involve managing the delivery staff and the Essential Skills in the Workplace contract in the South West Wales area. Applicants should have knowledge/experience of Essential/Basic Skills delivery preferably in the workplace as well as proven management experience. A level 3 qualification in delivering Basic Skills to adults or equivalent is essential. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this vacancy.
